Today is The Day. Everyday is The Day.

As a first American from my Greek -Armenian family, I feel privileged to have an opportunity to share this massage with all of you.

My grandfather was a victim of Stalin's regime and ended up dying in Siberia for one reason: he was thinking too big. According to my parent's stories (unfortunately I never had a chance to meet him), he would always say that his biggest dream was for his children to live in America where big thinking is appreciated. And people who think big and act generously are being put into nice houses and not sent to Siberia. Well, his children did not make his dream come true. His grandchild did. I thank God everyday for giving me an opportunity to spend my last twenty dollars to apply for the green card lottery and win it 9 years ago. The rest is a long story for my other post.

Today, I would like to share with all of you one simple thing. After living in this young country of controversial history for 9 years, I believe it's time for us to realize that today we should be celebrating and encouraging the power of balance and its increasing importance in this era of fast paced environment where things change too fast without letting transitions between those changes have enough influence on the world inside and outside of our own.

While my grandfather was right that in this country big thinking is appreciated, I bet he would've had some disappointments witnessing the narrow -mindedness of certain powerful individuals and organizations. He would've been highly inspired by the unlimited opportunities that a healthy person can have in this country. He would've been heartbroken by the unnecessary struggles and tragedies that sick people have to face in this country. He would've been amazed by the abundance of goods and services that this country has to offer. He would've been suspicious of the consumer driven market built solely on satisfaction of every single wish of sometimes not so reasonable human nature. He would've been excited about the positive changes that this country fights for when it comes to human rights. He would've been dramatized by the foreign policies that our corporate driven agenda is promoting. He would've been motivated to do something about it. He would've been discouraged by some of the resistance that he would have had to face from people on his course of action. He would have been helped by the people who shared the same moral and ethic code. But the beauty of it all is that eventually he would have had succeeded. And that is the power of this country no matter what other corrupted minds try to sell to our nation. Yes, we have major issues that we are fighting to change. And those issues won't be resolved today or tomorrow on the big scale. However, from my personal life experience, the small scale is the scale that counts initially. That is why, I am taking one hour of my life to share this message with you hoping that you will share it with people who believe and strive to make the world inside and outside of their own better on the small scale this day and every day by encouraging positive changes and allowing mindful transitions take their rightful places in the world where time is so so so precious. One step; one second; one drop; one change at a time.
