Let us all be real, we know that film acting is as much about talent and skills as about looks. It's not good or bad. Film is a visual art form. There is no way around it. Although, we all know that if given a chance, a good actor can make it all look and sound interesting and real enough for people to enjoy a story as a whole. Also, let us make it straight, if you call yourself an actor, I assume you read acting books, plays, and other art materials to keep enriching your personality and sharpening your craft. Watching Netflix for hours is not going to turn you into a well rounded person or an artist who has something more to offer than his/her passion for watching films and being in them.

However, let's forget about all these never ending dilemmas and get down to business.

I am sure that by now you probably have a favorite acting book if not two or three of them.

Now, it is time to have YOUR FAVORITE ACTING BUSINESS BOOK. And since a skill of networking is sometimes even more important that acting skill in the film industry,

never eat alone by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz should become your pocket book if you decide that this industry is the one that you are dedicating your life to.

Why I love this book so much? I love it not because it is written well. I love it not because it gives great tips about how to improve your networking skills. I love it not because it helps you to understand what networking actually is. I love it not because Keith Ferrazzi shares his personal life story with us. I love it not because he is sincere and honest about many topics related to this complex business element.

I LOVE IT BECAUSE OF THE CULTURE THAT IT PROMOTES and IDEALS THAT IT ENCOURAGES YOUNG PEOPLE TO STRIVE FOR.

If you are an LA based struggling film actor, you probably noticed that a lot of people there play the same game. I describe this game in three simple sentences: " I am such a talented and accomplished actor that I can't even remember the last time I had a real gig despite of all my accomplishments. My agent sucks so I am looking for a new agent to get better gigs. Who is your agent by the way?"

In other words, they all fall victims of that idiotic idea that networking means nothing more than just knowing people who are in the film industry who might some day get them an acting job. Trust me, I know it because I almost fell into the same pit.

Please DO NOT BE THAT ACTOR. Read the book. It will open your eyes on how you or anyone you know is making the same mistake. It will educate you on how to become a person who does not ask for but does offer help. After all, I am sure that you are a talented and productive person who has passion for bringing positive change into this world.

Keith Ferrazzi opens the whole new world of the culture that we all know exists among true professionals in many industries and in the film industry as well. The culture of reaching out not only for help but to help. Moreover, he inspires you to find creative ways of helping others. Now, if I did not read his book, I would probably keep thinking that it was a genius idea to use only my acting related pictures for my blog posts. But now I think, it is quite not so genius. I could have used pictures of my friends and other inspiring people that have something to do with topics and subjects I discuss in them. But I fell victim of self adoration that unfortunately a lot of young actors are victims of. There is nothing wrong with self promotion. But hey, I do not like to see only my face on my blog. but I will keep them to remind myself to ALWAYS KEEP MY EGO CHECKED and TO ALWAYS STAY HUMBLE. After all, we never achieve anything by ourselves. Even our photogenic faces are a product of genetics that our parents were kind and generous enough to share with us.

I won't waste your time any longer because now you have a way more important thing to read. Go get your copy of never eat alone by Keith Ferrazzi with Tahl Raz and start cooking meals for those you'd like to share them with.
